Choose a program level that's right for you
With the OPTIFAST VLCD Program, there are three levels to choose from, depending on whether you want to replace 3, 2 or even 1 meal with an OPTIFAST VLCD Shake. This means you can tailor the program to your own personal weight loss objectives and way of life. Importantly, the program is flexible, so you can move between levels as your goals or lifestyle needs change over time, or if you find that a particular level isn’t right for you.

5:2 Intermittent Fasting Level5:2 Level represents 5 feast days, 2 fast days.
OPTIFAST products can be used on the 500
to 600 calorie days (two non-consecutive
days of the week) and a regular diet can be

One way to start your weight loss program is with a few weeks on the Intensive Level, where all 3 meals are replaced with OPTIFAST VLCD products. This will help your body to induce a mild ketosis (fat burning state), and produce fast results that can be motivating for the start of your weight loss journey.

Inducing ketosis with the Intensive Level is an effective way to start your weight loss program
Active 2 Level:
Approx. 1000 Calories Daily | Gradual Weight Loss
The Active 2 Level includes replacing 2 meals a day with OPTIFAST and having 1 healthy calorie-controlled meal during the day. This results in more gradual weight loss, but it does mean you can enjoy a meal with family or friends – for example, a bowl of stir fried lean meat/fish and green vegetables with a small serve of rice noodles.
Active 1 Level:
Approx. 1200 Calories Daily | Gradual Weight Loss
The Active 1 Level includes replacing 1 meal a day with OPTIFAST and is ideal if you are seeking greater variety in your meal choice.
Maintaining your desired weight
When you’ve achieved your weight loss goal, you’re ready to transition to the Maintenance Level, where you can enjoy 3 healthy, calorie-controlled meals per day. The flexibility of the OPTIFAST VLCD Program means that, if you need to, you can always re-introduce OPTIFAST VLCD products whenever you feel the need to get back on track.
5:2 Intermittent Fasting Level
12 weeks | 500 – 600 Calories on 2 fast days/week | Moderate, Gradual Weight Loss
The 5:2 Intermittent Fasting level is designed to help you to lose weight and maintain weight loss, with 2 non-consecutive fast days and 5 feast days a week. It offers the flexibility to switch between periods of fasting and eating, without restricting your caloric intake for days in a row.
